6 Week Progress Report / A Sure-Fire Appetite Killer

It's only been 6 weeks since I started this blog. Which means that it's only been 6 weeks since Operation: Lard Out took effect. That's so ridiculous. It seems like it's been so much longer. It's strange how quickly things can become part of your routine.

Anyway. I weighed myself on Sunday - I'm down another pound. So I've lost 7 pounds total. Not bad. I'm beginning to see it a little bit. My pants are looser. Some of my shirts are getting a little big as well. The best part, though, is that my boobs are shrinking.

Yes, the best part. I hate my boobs. They're way too freaking big. It wouldn't be so bad if they were proportional, but no. I'm short. Like, really short. 5-foot-nothing. Somewhere underneath all this fat is a pretty small person. D-cups do not belong on that person. The only good they've done me is making me look like I weigh less than I do, either because a good bit of my weight is actually on my chest or because they draw attention away from the fat that's everywhere else. Otherwise they're just a very literal pain. Mostly in the back region, and especially when attempting to run. So yeah, the fact that I had to trade in my bras for a C-cup is something I'm very happy about.

Wish me continued boob shrinkage.

Do you want to know a fool-proof way to kill your appetite? Spend the day sniffing turpentine. We were using oil paint in class today, and although most of us were using odorless thinner a few people had the stinky stuff. My friend was one of these, and she spilled a bunch of it all over the place. Right next to me. The smell was just... wow. The room was pretty full of fumes to begin with and that just put it over the top.

So, turpentine. An appetite suppressant you can get at the hardware store.

7 pounds is kick-ass. Even though I try and tell myself I'm now committed to health, and not really my appearance/weight, it still stresses me out. I'm in a constant state of wanting to lose 10-15 pounds. I seem to fluctuate with the same 5. I am also short (5'2") and so a little weight can make a big difference. I certainly don't have the boob issue though (B- on a good day!). Anyway, congrats. I want to lose 7 pounds.

Thanks! I'm feeling okay about things right now, but I'm not going to lie: I can say it's about health until my tongue falls out, but if I stop losing or gasp! gain weight I'll go into a horrible downward spiral of chocolate and self-hatred. It's totally about appearance/weight. I don't even really kid myself anymore. The health benefits are just an added bonus.

I wish I was a B- on a good day.

I wish you continued boob shrinkage! I can relate - I have actually experienced the same (awesome) boob shrinkage on my weight loss journey. Thankfully things are beginning to look a little more in proportion!

Thanks! I say good riddance to the boobs. People always think that's nuts, but as you know, big boobs are NOT all they're cracked up to be. My goal is to one day be able to buy all those cute little B-cup bras. So adorable. Whether they'll shrink that much is yet to be determined, but a girl can dream. :)

Girl, I am totally feelin’ you on the boob shrinkage thing. I’m 5’4’’ with DD cups, and I wish to god they would shrink already! I’ve lost 20 lbs since October and haven’t noticed any shrinkage in that area much to my dismay. I’ve decided I probably won’t even attempt jogging ‘till I’m on the right side of 150. I could be a C cup I think I’d be pretty happy.

Wow, yours need to start shrinking already! I've gone from a low D to a high C, so it's not really that big of a change... but it's a start.

I hate running. But only because of The Boobs. I actually found a really nice sports bra that keeps them pretty much in check... it's a Championship one, I think the Action Sport. It's the first one I've found that I didn't have to wear an actual bra underneath.

Congrats on your progress! I'm of the smaller chest 5'1 if that chubby girl variety : / But I'm going to the gym in 15 minutes, hurrah.

Lucky! On both counts. I really want to join a gym but seriously can't afford it. I'm eagerly awaiting warmer weather so outside stuff because an option again.

I am very fortunate to have a small gym room in my office building, and it's around the corner from my office..it's a few machines and a nice weight station. free! I love walking the most though. I'm a big fan of taking 2 hour walks on the weekends.
