Food Porn Overload, Part II

Oatmeal-banana-raisin waffles from VwaV. I made the usual "healthification" adjustments - whole wheat pastry flour instead of all-purpose and applesauce for most of the oil. Very tasty. Waffles are probably my favorite of the Breakfast Trifecta (pancakes, french toast, waffles).

Double chocolate chip cookies (recipe is here). These were just alright for me. Not bad, but I won't make them again.

Joanna's tester spinach dip. SO good. I love it.

The holy grail of oatmeal cookies. Crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle. Amazing. I could pretty much die happy now. The recipe is here. Make them and thank me later.

Joanna's tester alfredo sauce over whole wheat spaghetti. This stuff is pretty fantastic. Her cookbook (!!!) is going to be awesome.

It is all so pretty!

Did you make any healthful adjustments to the oatmeal cookies? I was just wondering if there were any options to make them healthier.

Thanks!

rachel - thanks!

anon - Actually, I didn't. I usually healthify everything I bake, but with cookies I try not to mess around too much. I like my cookies with a very particular texture that's very hard, if not impossible, to maintain if you sub out any of the fat. So I made the oatmeal cookies as written. They're still not terribly bad; I made half a batch and made them smaller than the giant size the recipe calls for and I still got 18 good-sized cookies. They worked out to 3 points per cookie that way.

it all looks so great!!

I've been lusting after the perfect oatmeal raisin cookie recipe for years. What kind of egg replacer did you use?

teddy - thanks!

katie - I think I used ener-g, but just because I wanted to use up the last of my box. Next time I'll use flax. I think it'll go well with the oatmeal-ness.

Oooh! I love that you healthify stuff and that it's beautiferous! I've added your blog to my vegan links on my blog - hope you don't mind!
