Soup and Cake

Sensational Sun-Dried Tomato and Chickpea Soup from The Garden of Vegan. I never use that cookbook, but I saw this recipe posted at Yeah, That "Vegan" Shit and decided to give it a try. It's really tasty. I'll make it again.

The cake I made for Adam's birthday. It's simple vanilla cake with orange "buttercream" frosting. The frosting was a variation on the fluffy buttercream from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World. This cake was fantastic, if I do say so myself. Yum. Plus it was perfectly shaped. No sunken tops or anything.

An inside shot.

perfect looking cake!

That cake really is beautiful! And the soup looks good too...

Everything looks tremendous! Way to go!

I've made that soup numerous times. It's one of the household favs. That cake!! OMG - it looks fantastic!

The soup looks great, but that cake? To die for :)

I have a minor addiction to sun-dried tomatoes. This weekend, I made focaccia bread with sun-dried tomatoes baked right in.

This blog really does make me wangt to restart my vegetarian food blog.

you really are great at decorating cakes!

Thanks everyone!

matt - focaccia with sun-dried tomatoes sounds fantastic. Restart your blog!

megan - Thank you! This was pretty much my first time using a pastry tip. Fun stuff.
