Today was good. I have no complaints, except that I didn't eat dinner until way too late. I was studying for an art history exam that I have tomorrow, and it just turned into one of those "I'll eat when I finish just this one more thing..." things. When I did finally eat I think I inhaled it in under 5 minutes. I always eat too fast, though. It's something I need to be more aware of. I am not a Hoover. I am allowed to taste my food.

Someone questioned my rice cakes at lunch today. Her voice was incredulous. "Rice cakes?" Yes, rice cakes! I love 'em. They do bear an uncanny resemblance to styrofoam, though.

I appreciate rice cakes with peanut butter too, topped with sliced banana and I'm happy. I always forget to buy the damn cakes though when I'm at Trader Joe's (so cheap there).

I'm also in a eating dinner late pattern, and it's sad because I'm apparently enjoying it. On one hand, I'm eating later (7:30/8ish) and I don't want a snack or dessert later..but then obviously it sucks to be eating that late for my body.

p.s. I used the cocoa butter! Worth every amazing penny.

Yeah, the one good thing about eating late is not having much time to snack afterward. I don't consider 8 that late, though - that's pretty much when we usually eat since I have school until 6ish. I wonder about the perils of eating late, though - in some ways it makes sense, but on the other hand a calorie is a calorie is a calorie, you know?

Rice cakes don't get enough love. Cocoa butter also doesn't get enough love, mostly because I don't know where to get it. But I want some really bad now, especially after seeing your cannoli. :)

I love the caramel rice cakes, a great snack. The big equation is calories in vs. calories out so I don’t worry so much about when I eat, just how much and what I eat. There’s too much to worry about with eating anyway. Glad to see we’re all getting back on track, St. Patty’s day sent me into a dismal eating spiral, lots o’ beer, pizza, deep fried tofu (yum!). Oh god, it’s good to be eating like a normal person again.

chris - You should eat a rice cake. They get a bad rap. :)

shananigans - Yeah, it always feels nice to return to normal after a day or two (or more) of eating like a lady pregnant with quintuplets. I don't usually care for tofu, but the deep fried stuff is yummy. That's pretty much the story of my life, though. The deep fried stuff is always yummy.
